STICKY
PASSWORD Review by Mary Pearson Original
version Sticky Password supports Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla
Foxfire browsers. Before the installation is completed, this program provides
the opportunity to view a movie clip demo. There was no sound to the clip, and
it moved very fast. In fact, the clip repeated itself several times before I realized
it. If there was sound to this clip, I could have followed it much easier. I found
it to be very confusing, and not helpful at all. I closed out the "Installing
Sticky Password" screen and the "Set up Wizard" FINISH icon appeared. I clicked
the FINISH icon, and the movie clip demo appeared again, continuing to repeat
itself much too quickly to absorb. The next screen was STICKY PASSWORD INTRO.
This screen was very instructive, and gave exact step-by-step procedures for using
the program, and a description of how the program will benefit the user. After
the installation is completed, STICKY PASSWORD was an icon on my desktop and also
an icon next to the system clock. I clicked on the icon next to the system clock,
and there are step-by-step instructions on entering your MASTER PASSWORD. This
is the only password you will ever have to remember if you use this program. This
is the only program I have come across that tells you that the caps lock is on
and suggests you might have future problems with the password in upper case. Previously
having had this problem, I appreciated the suggestion. After this, adding
your passwords is easy. When you are on a screen that needs a password, just click
on the STICKY PASSWORD icon and enter your ID and password in the area provided.
STICKY PASSWORD automatically enters your ID and password into its database. The
next time you open that screen, just click on the "sign in" icon, and STICKY PASSWORD
will automatically enter your ID and password in the boxes provided. As long as
you have STICKY PASSWORD and your master password, you will not need to remember
where you wrote down the password you need. The database allows you to change
your passwords easily. STICKY PASSWORD has free updates, so hopefully, when Microsoft
upgrades to its new and improved operating system, you can bring your STICKY PASSWORD
program along. A good safety feature of this program is that if you walk
away from your computer, leaving it on, STICKY PASSWORD will automatically lock
its database after five minutes. It is easy to unlock, with a click of the icon
and the master password. Another good safety feature--the program claims to prevent
password phishing and identity theft, and did indicate that some of my passwords
had been unprotected. With the exception of the too-fast movie clip demos,
during the installation stage, I am very pleased with this program. I can see
that I am going to rely on the ease of always being able to access my passwords,
and if any of you have ever sat wondering where on earth you wrote down that specific
password, you should seriously consider acquiring STICKY PASSWORD. Sticky
Password is a Try-Before-You-Buy software, so you can try all its features absolutely
for free!
